Object.JPG
While trickery was not the overt pursuit for the Image Object, the Object Image attempts to deceive and blur the boundaries between what is real and what is not. Rendering has become a staple in the repertoire of an architectural practitioner’s representational tool belt. We render in order to expedite the process of illustrating an idea. Press the button, wait for it to buffer, adjust the settings, realize your sun was off, consult the sun diagrams from your undergraduate systems course which are permanently imprinted in your mind, wonder

how your friends from undergrad are doing, check them out on linked in while your rendering is finishing, and presto! A beautiful rendering.

Well, the Object Image painfully aborts that process by creating models and a staged environment which suggests itself to be already a rendering. In the image object, the rendering engine is the phone, the sun is a flashlight, and the objects to those who did not read this description never existed.
